ADEN, Yemen — Gunmen of the Yemen-based al-Qaida branch attacked army checkpoints in Yemen’s southeastern province of Hadramout on Friday morning, killing about 15 soldiers, a military official told Xinhua.

BAGHDAD — At least five people were killed and 22 others injured in a suicide bomb attack near a Shiite mosque south of Iraqi capital Baghdad on Friday, an Iraqi police source told Xinhua.
