WASHINGTON — The Pentagon said on Wednesday the U.S. military had no plans to conduct coordinated operations with the Russians in striking IS.

“Right now, we have no plans. We’re not coordinating with the Russians, (and) we’re not conducting operations with Russians, nor are we planning to do any of those things here at the ground level,” said Steve Warren, spokesman for U.S. military campaign Operation Inherent Resolve against the extremist group the Islamic State (IS). LONDON — Britain’s royal navy warship HMS Defender will support the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in the fight against the Islamic State (IS), the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced Wednesday.

The ship will provide air defense cover for the French carrier to tackle IS, also known as ISIL or ISIS, according to the MoD. (Britain-Warship)

PARIS — France would ban massive marches scheduled during the upcoming climate change conference, Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius said on Wednesday.

OSLO — Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg said Wednesday there was no reason to doubt that a Norwegian citizen taken hostage by the Islamic State (IS) had been killed.
