The Professional and Managerial Staff Union of Bulk Oil and Transportation Company Limited (BOST)has stated clearly that there is no political victimization within the company.
Kwame Awuah DarkoThe Union also indicated that there is truth in the allegation of corruption under the present management of BOST as reported in the media under current Managing Director. The Union also disassociated itself from the reportage on the BOST-BDCs E& Y audit report. As staff body, our commitment and loyalty remains firm with the management of BOST.
The Chairman of the Professional and Managerial Staff Union of BOST Mr, Albert Mantey, made this known on behalf the Union at a press conference held in Accra.
“Within the last few days,the professional and Managerial Staff Union of BOST and the management of the Company had some disagreement which has attracted media attention. We the professional and Managerial Staff Union of BOST wish to state that, our concerns are being addressed by the management together with our mother Union, General Transport, Petroleum and Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU) of the trade Union Congress(TUC)”, he stated
According to him, job Evaluation has been done during the restructuring exercise.
“We also write to disassociate ourselves from the media Publication of $55million Loot at BOST: MD stands accused from the Vanguard which was subsequently published by Ghanaweb on April 28, 2015 and also the news item $50 million worth of fuel missing at BOST on published on 28 April 2015”
The Chairman of the Local Union of BOST Mr. Bernard Owusu, also gave hinted that the company built with the taxpayers money is profitable, and has the capacity to fulfill its core mandate to the good people of Ghana.
He noted that, the operations of BOST have expanded with additional mandate as the natural gas transmission utility. This he said, some of the landlocked countries in the sub-region are in business talks with BOST. Also, most of the terminals which used to be down are now operating .
“Over the past six (6) months, BOST haven importing Gasoline and Gas oil, and currently is able able to hold strategic petroleum reserves for the country.
Some of the recent Gasoil parcel received will be used to commission the Buipe to Bolgatanga Petroleum Product Pipeline(B2P3) which has been not operated for the past seven (7) years”, he noted
However, the Unionize Staff of BOST therefore called on the Managing Director Mr. Kingsley Kwame Awuah-Darko and his able Board led Mr. Kakra Essaumuah to remain resolute and focused in the discharge of their duties.
“We know know you have been under pressure lately as you attempt to revitalize the management team. We employ you to proceed without any ill- thought or biasness. Ghanaians are counting on you to make BOST the preferred Oil and Gas logistics business in Ghana and the region. Under your leadership Ghanaians should be guaranteed fuel security, uniform pricing of unadulterated fuel, and fair distribution of natural gas for industries”, they said.
