Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has released 1,500 trucks of kerosene for distribution to the public.

Mr Ikenna Okpani, Media Officer, Port Harcourt Refinery Petroleum Company Ltd, disclosed this on Wednesday in Calabar at the flag off of the “kero-correct?? campaign in Calabar.

Okpani who is the “Team Lead?? of the kero-correct campaign in Cross River State, said the campaign was to ensure availability of kerosene at the government regulated price of N50 per litre.

“Approximately, we have released 1,500 trucks (40, 000 litres per truck) of kerosene for the purpose of this campaign which will last for three months.??“These trucks would be distributed to the 37 NNPC mega stations, 12 floating mega stations and 524 NNPC affiliate stations across the country over the period of three months??, he disclosed

According to him, the campaign was an initiative of the Federal Government to get kerosene to consumers at government approved price of N50 per litre. “We have discovered, over time that many Nigerians are not getting this product at the approved price across the country.

According to him, NNPC was collaborating with an NGO to ensure that the product was sold at N50 per litre to consumers while Ms. Comfort Effiong, state leader of the kero-correct NGO, said that the initiative was aimed at getting the product to the final consumers at the approved government price.
