It is all systems go for Nigeria’s lifters ahead of the IPC Powerlifting World Championship in Dubai.
Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation Technical Director Samuel Ekeoma has revealed that 14 athletes have been taking part in a training camp in Ibadan over the past few weeks.
They will head to Dubai at the start of next month for the IPC championships from April 5-11, which will also act as a prelude to the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.
“Their response so far is commendable and this implies that they are in good shape to compete in the championships,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria.
“The coaches are also doing everything possible to bring out the best in the athletes before the championships.”
