Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday fired the managing director of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) with no reasons given so far.

portThe firing of Sanusi Ado Bayero took immediate effect, according to a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

“He (Bayero) is to hand over the management of the NPA and all government property in his possession to Habibu Abdullahi who has been reinstated as managing director of the NPA by President Buhari,” the statement said.

The ports authority, established in 1954, is a government agency that governs and operates the ports of Nigeria.
Bayero was appointed April 29 by former President Goodluck Jonathan, in the twilight of his administration. Enditem
