Coach shortlists 25 for Eight-Nation Adidas U-15 Football Tournament in Mexico

The Nigeria U-15 team closed camp for the Eight-Nation Adidas U-15 Football Tournament in Mexico on a solid note, with a 4-1 defeat of the country’s senior women team, Super Falcons, on Thursday.

Taiwo Awoniyi, Ekene Onwuka, Denis Bonaventure and Solomon Nsude scored for the U-15 team, while the Super Falcons lone goal came through Edit Eduvere from a penalty award.

Meanwhile, the U-15 National Team’s Secretary, Wale Adeyinka revealed that 25 of the 30 players in camp have been shortlisted for the Eight-Nation Adidas U-15 Football Tournament billed to hold in Mexico in June.

“We are decamping the players on Friday after two weeks of intensive training and we also have a list of 25 players that we hope to invite in May, and it is from this bunch that we will choose the final 18 that will represent this country at the Eight-Nation Adidas U-15 Football Tournament in Mexico.”

The tournament will feature Nigeria, Spain, Argentina, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark and hosts, Mexico.
