Issuance of mining titles in Nigeria will soon be reduced to between 30 and 45 days as stipulated in the 2007 Mining and Minerals Act, the government said on Tuesday.

Issuance of title to investors used to take three months or longer, with a lot of follow-ups from such investors.

Minister of Mines and Steel Development Kayode Fayemi said at the 2nd Nigerian Mining Week in Abuja that his ministry has created a portal to serve as a one-stop-shop online interface to integrate the ministry with all its agencies.

Fayemi said the ministry’s aspiration is to build a world-class minerals and mining ecosystem designed to serve a targeted domestic and export market for minerals and ores. Enditem
