Nigeria To Punish Partisanship Army Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned its officers and men against being partisan as the 2015 general elections approaches.
The Commandant of the corps in Sokoto State, Alhaji Yusha’u Aliyu, gave the warning in Sokoto on Sunday.
He said “the corps must provide a level-playing field for all the politicians, irrespective of party affiliations.
“We must be seen to be neutral, free and fair to all citizens of Nigeria who are legally pursuing their political ambitions at all levels,?? he added.
Aliyu promised the commitment of the corps to execute its mandate of securing lives and property of Nigerians during the elections.
He added that “our doors should remain open to all without any bias; we will continue to equip our officers and men with the requisite tools to diligently discharge their constitutional duties.
“Also, we will soon embark on massive sensitisation campaigns to educate politicians on the need to conduct their activities peacefully.??
He advised politicians not to regard politics as a do or die affair.
“Rather, they should lawfully engage in it with absolute patriotism and the fear Allah in their minds.
“Politics should be done to further enhance the living standard of the electorate and not to aggravate their problems,?? the commandant stressed.
