Dikko has been under investigation for alleged diversion and misappropriation of more than 126 million dollars in his care during his leadership of the customs between 2009 and 2015.

Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman of the anti-graft agency, told reporters that the former customs chief was expected to return all the money diverted.

Dikko was arrested in June over the allegation but later freed due to his poor health.

Former Minister of State for Defence Musiliu Obanikoro, also arrested for a similar offence by the anti-graft police, has agreed to return more than 315,000 dollars, Uwujaren said.

The payment done by the former official was under confirmation, according to the spokesman.

Obanikoro has been in custody of the anti-graft agency since Oct. 17, after he turned himself in for investigation. Enditem
