Nigeria police confirm 6 killed in southern state

Police in Nigeria on Wednesday confirmed the killings of six people in different parts of the southern state of Edo.

The state police chief, Lawal Jimeta, who made this known to reporters, said four people were killed in Benin, the state capital, and the other two killed in a neighboring village.

There was no clue yet concerning motives behind the killings, he said, adding that some people had been arrested by the anti-cult unit of the police.

Jimeta said an investigation into the incidents has commenced. Enditem
