Ahead of the eagerly awaited match between the Golden Eaglets and the Akwa Ibom State?s selected team tagged Umana-Umana Babes which will take palce at the Uyo Township Stadium, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sent its best wishes to Godswill Obot Akpabio as he celebrates his 50th birthday on Sunday.

The NFF?s goodwill message was delivered by its Head of Technical, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, when he led officials of the Golden Eaglets on a courtesy call on the Secretary to  Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr. Umana Okon Umana  on Saturday.

Mr. Umana received the Golden Eaglets? contingent on behalf of Governor Akpabio, who away to Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State for the burial rites of the younger brother of President Goodluck Jonathan. 

 He congratulated the NFF over the qualification of the national Under-17 team for the 2013 African cadet championship to be hosted in Morocco.

?We are delighted to have you in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state because you are great ambassadors of the country,? said Mr. Umana. ?We are so happy over your recent qualification and glad that you are here to celebrate with Governor Akpabio on his 50th birthday.?

The NFF according to  Dr. Ikpeme , is proud of the transformation agenda of Akwa Ibom State under the astute leadership of  Chief Akpabio, adding that  the federation gave its express approval  for the  Golden Eaglets to be involved with  the Golden Jubilee Celebration  as a mark of honour  to  the Governor.

?On behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation, we want to wish him all the best in the years ahead and that is why the federation did not hesitate to give the approval for the Golden Eaglets to play the match when the organisers contacted us,? he said.

On the delegation were Head coach, Manu Garba and his assistants coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, Nduka Ugbade and Emeka Amadi. Others are the team?s co-ordinator, Suleiman Abubakar and media officer, Morakinyo Abodunrin as well as chairman and coordinator of the friendly match committee, Mr. John Ekpeyong and Ben Ekpo respectively.
