The Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere will host the event on Sunday

The Nigeria Football Federation has appealed to the people of Lagos to come out in good number for Sunday?s 67th Federation Cup Grand Finale at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

Speaking on Friday, Chairman of NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Emeka Inyama, said capacity crowd at any football venue goes a long way to add to the glamour and substance of the day.

?The NFF wishes to appeal to ball fans as well as other Lagosians to come out en masse and make it a wonderful day for football on Sunday. We are keen to rediscover the glory and glamour of the Federation Cup,? he said.

?The Lagos State Government is doing so much in this respect, and we praise their efforts. Capacity crowd at the stadium on Sunday will go a long way to encourage the NFF and the Lagos State Government further, in their efforts to see that the Federation Cup regains its place as the most anticipated football competition in the land.? 

NFF officials confirmed on Friday that Professor Musa Garba Yakassai, a professor of sports administration at the Bayero University, Kano, will be Match Commissioner for the final match between Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Heartland FC of Owerri.

The third place match, between Kano Pillars and Prime FC of Oshogbo, will have Chief Kunle Adesiyun, former Chairman of Kwara State Football Association and the Chairman of the NFF Match Commissioners? Appointment Committee, as Match Commissioner.

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, will be chief hosts of the day.

Fashola, an ardent football follower who still plays to keep fit, will arrive at the VIP Box a few minutes after Maigari, who is also a member of the respected FIFA Players? Status Committee.
