The Dikan Center has launched HerPress, a specialized training initiative designed to support female journalists across Ghana.
The program, introduced at an event in Accra attended by media professionals and diplomats, will provide mentorship and skills development to address gender disparities in the country’s news industry.
Australian High Commissioner Berenice Owen-Jones announced her government’s financial backing for the initiative, noting it aligns with global efforts to combat workplace challenges women journalists face.
Dikan Center founder Paul Ninson emphasized the program’s goal to amplify women’s voices in national discourse through professional development opportunities.
The fellowship will include workshops and culminate in an annual summit celebrating women’s contributions to Ghanaian media.
