According to him, the problem remains a major concern to the farmers and has therefore appealed to the government to rehabilitate the roads, especially those connecting the rural communities to the urban areas to enable the farmers have easy access to the market centers to sell their products.

He noted that the Brong Ahafo region remains one of the major food basket areas in the country but stressed that the bad nature of the roads in the area is having a great toll on the activities of the farmers.
He pointed out that as a result of this, most of the farmers are discouraged and are drifting into other activities.

He mention high debt as one of the major problems that face farmers in the area as a result of the bad nature of the road networks as the farmers find it difficult to send their products to the market to sell to defray the loans they contracted from lending institutions.
He however advised the youth to go into farming as it is not an activity for the rural poor but for rich people in developed countries.

He also called on financial institutions to assist up-coming farmers, especially the youth and the rural poor to go encourage more people to go into farming activities as it remains the backbone of the country?s economy.
