There has been a bloody clash between supporters of the ruling NDC and the main opposition NPP at Makola in Accra, according to an eyewitness who was at the scene.
The supporters of the two rival parties reportedly used machetes to attack themselves.
Market women, hawkers and pedestrians have reportedly fled the market.

Tensions have been high in the country since the NPP refused to concede defeat after the EC declared John Mahama the winner of the December 7 Presidential Election with 50.70% of the votes.

NPP supporters who have been protesting at Obra Spot near Circle in Accra are said to attacked some supporters of the NDC and vandalised their property.
It is not clear whether the clash at Makola was as a result of a reprisal attack initiated by supporters of the NDC.
The police have yet to confirm the incident.

More soon.
