Nania FC finished a disappointing ninth at the 2012 Future Champions Under-17 tournament in Gauteng, South Africa.

Abedi Pele’s side opened their campaign by drawing 1-1 with Nacional from Uruguay and proceeded to beat K-Stars 1-0 in the second match.

A 3-0 defeat to South African side Orlando Pirates dented their semi-final qualification chances as they finished at the foot of the table in Group B.

The 2011 Ghana MTN FA Cup winners bounced back to thrash Mohloli School 6-0 in the play-offs.

Nania beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 in the ninth-place play-off on Saturday.

Clube Atletico Mineiro beat Nacional 2-1 to win this year’s competition.
