Koforidua, Eastern Region — Nana Owiredu Wadie I, Nkorsuohene of Kwahu Nkwatia and alumnus of Madonna Basic School, has unveiled a transformative educational project to mark the school’s 60th anniversary.
Dubbed the Madonna @60 Legacy Project, the initiative will deliver a state-of-the-art multipurpose complex featuring six classroom blocks, an Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre, a German and Spanish Language Centre, modern ICT and library facilities, an International Curriculum Centre, a Music Teaching Centre, and staff offices.

The project, fully funded by Nana Owiredu Wadie I through Kabaka Construction & Investment Limited, is scheduled for completion within a year, with commissioning set for November 2026.

Speaking at the launch, Nana Wadie reaffirmed his commitment to supporting quality education and giving back to the institution that shaped his foundation. School authorities and students hailed the gesture as historic, noting it will significantly enhance teaching and learning while positioning Madonna Basic School as a modern hub of academic excellence.
