A Namibian magistrate court on Monday threw out the challenge by independent presidential candidate Panduleni Itula to rescind the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the upcoming November election.

Magistrate Uaatjo Uanivi dismissed the case on technical grounds denting Itula’s bid.


Namibia was among the first African countries to use EVMs for voting.

The Namibian magistrate also cemented the judgment by saying the Electoral Commission of Namibia has done everything possible to guarantee the hosting of a credible and transparent voting system, allaying fears being raised by the independent candidate. Enditem
