For the first time the popular Namibian music awards event, the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMA) will be broadcasted live in 180 countries.

This was announced Thursday by the the organizing committee.

“We will be live streaming. We have not done this last year. We would like to share the event with others whose not based in Namibia. There are also many people who would like to attend the event but cannot because of various reasons. We are instead bringing it to them,” Umbi Karuaihe-Upi from the organizing committee said.

NAMA’s Executive Chairperson, Tim Ekandjo said this year more international experts in the music industry will attend the event, and there would be several international judges.

“We wanted to create a platform for the artists whose part of the event to mingle, learn from others and also talk about the future of their careers. This is a great way to learn more about music industry internationally,” Ekandjo said.

This year there will be thirteen performance slots, compared to 10 of last year. The event will be held on September 7 in the coastal town of Swakopmund. Enditem
