Namibia’s Health Ministry (MoHSS) is working with local and international partners to conduct the Namibia Population based HIV Impact Assessment (NAMPHIA) survey in 2017, an official said Friday.

Community Mobilization Advisor for NAMPHIA Roger Lyners said in a statement that the goal of NAMPHIA is to assess the burden of HIV and the impact of the nation’s prevention, care and treatment response in all 14 regions of Namibia.

He said information obtained through NAMPHIA would help improve HIV services in Namibia and capture progress towards achieving the goal of eliminating new cases of HIV by 2030.

The project is supported by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Enditem
