The Bono East Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested six young men following a targeted anti-narcotics operation at a known drug den in the Donkor-Nkwanta community within the Nkoranza South District.

The operation, codenamed “Operation Clean Street,” was carried out on Friday, March 27, 2026, as part of NACOC’s sustained enforcement drive against illicit drug distribution and abuse, particularly in communities identified as high-risk areas for youth drug activity.

All six suspects are between the ages of 20 and 23. They have been identified as Ismael Tahiru, 20, Edward Adai, 20, Opoku Kwame, 20, Benjamin Atinga, 22, Isaac Antwi, 23, and Emmanuel Brobbey, 23.

Searches conducted on the suspects yielded a range of narcotic and synthetic substances, along with several items consistent with drug trade activity. Exhibits seized included 60 cannabis rolls, compressed and wrapped cannabis parcels, seven quantities of local cannabis, four blisters of Tramadol (Red) 250mg, and six boxes of Gold Seal. Officers also recovered rolling papers, a lighter, a motorcycle, two kitchen knives, five pairs of scissors, and a hammer.

All six suspects remained in custody as of Saturday and are assisting investigators with ongoing enquiries. The seized substances have been secured for laboratory analysis and use as evidence in any subsequent prosecution.

NACOC said the operation forms part of its broader community-level enforcement strategy to reclaim drug-infested areas and restore safety in neighbourhoods where illicit narcotics activity has become entrenched. The Commission has in recent months conducted similar operations across multiple regions, including Takoradi, Accra, and the North East Region, reflecting an intensified national push to dismantle street-level drug distribution networks.
