The winners of the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards were revealed at the just-wrapped ceremony in Milan, Italy on Sunday, October 25. Justin Bieber dominated the winners list with five awards he won in various categories including Best Male, Best Look and North America’s Worldwide Act.

“It’s been a long couple of years. I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognized for my music,” the Canadian superstar said when accepting his Best Male honor. That night, he also took home the Best Collaboration trophy for his hit “Where Are U Now?” featuring Skrillex and Diplo. Thanks to his Beliebers, he additionally nabbed the Biggest Fans Award following a tough battle against One Direction, Taylor Swift, 5 Seconds of Summer and Katy Perry.

Other big winners at the annual event are Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes and Duran Duran. The British singer, who also co-hosted the show, bagged two awards for Best Live Act and Best World Stage. Mendes won two as well in the Best Push and Best New Act categories.

Duran Duran, meanwhile, was honored with the first ever MTV Video Visionary Award. “Music lovers around the world, when we started there was us and MTV and we blazed a trail and we were there for each other,” said member Simon Le Bon as he took the stage alongside bandmates Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor.

The MTV Europe Music Awards aired live from Milan’s Mediolanum Forum with Sheeran and “Orange Is the New Black” actress Ruby Rose as co-hosts. Swift, One Direction, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Coldplay were among global superstars who made it into the winners list with one nod apiece.

Despite being nominated for a record-breaking nine awards, Swift only won Best Song for her Kendrick Lamar-assisted “Bad Blood”. Currently on her massive “1989” tour, she wasn’t present to collect her prize.
