MTN Ghana in collaboration with Ghana Multimedia Incubation Center (GMIC) has taken a giant step by empowering young entrepreneurs (Incubates) with the necessary skills and resources to enable them build robust and viable businesses in Ghana.

In all, nineteen (19) young entrepreneurs were taken through Technology Product Development and Branding with the core aim of supporting them to sustain their businesses in order to become financially independent.

Speaking at the workshop, the Resource Person for the programme, Mr. Eli Kpodo, Brand and Advertising Manager of MTN, entreated the incubates to take branding seriously since it is the heart beat every business. Adding that, branding gives an identity and image people have about the product.

This he said, branding will also help them to sustain growth in their businesses; and also distinguish them in the business sector.

The Acting Project Coordinator for Ghana Multimedia Incubator Centre (GMIC) of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Emmanuel J. A. Fiagbenu, also advised the youth to endeavour to come with innovative ideas since there are numerous opportunities especially in the ICT space.

According to him, the well-packaged programme was organized to equip business owners and young entrepreneurs with the requisite business and technology product development skills to enable them grow and expand their businesses.

However, he lauded MTN Ghana for coming out with such laudable initiative; since it will go a long way to help alleviate the high rate of unemployment in the country.

The Ghana Multimedia Incubation Center (GMIC) is a government institution set up in 2005, and mandated to promote ICT entrepreneurship development through businesses incubation. It provides training in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). GMIC currently operates under the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).

Ghana’s leading telecommunications services provider, MTN Ghana came out with this judicious initiative with the aim of digitizing the Ghanaian economy, while helping alleviate the rate of youth unemployment in the country.

Throughout, the year, MTN has been actively holding various projects across the country and also in other parts of Africa. These projects are aimed at improving the lives of communities in which MTN operates.

So far, the unbeatable network service provider in Ghana has impacted more than four million lives with over USD 13 million through its Corporate Social Responsibilities in the country.
