Ghana’s Leading Telecommunications Service Provider, MTN has embarked another benevolent exercise by renovating Hajj Village at the cost of over GH¢200, 000.

The Company also presented communication devices worth Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 30,000) MTN airtime worth Ghc 1,500.00 as well as other MTN products and services.

Presenting the items, the General Manager for Distributive Trade Mr. Abubakar Mohammed, noted that the kind gesture which forms part of the the company’s corporate social responsibility was also aimed at facilitating the work of the Hajj Board as they prepare for this year’s holy journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Adding that, MTN took this giant by renovating the Hajj Village in order to create a conducive and a comfortable logging for the pilgrims as well.

” MTN responded positively to a proposal from the Hajj Board to renovate logging area for the pilgrims. This proposal was approved and within 3 weeks , a total cost of over 200.00 , this has become a reality”, he stated.

According to him, MTN will set up Mobile Money stands at the Hajj Village in Accra, Tamale and Saudi Arabia to provide pilgrims with access to fast , secured and convenient money transfer services.
“We hope these donations and support will make this year’s Hajj a memorable one”, he said.

The Chairman of the Hajj Board , Sheikh I.C . Quaye, expressed his profound appreciation to management of MTN for supporting the Muslim community in diverse ways.

He said the relationship between MTN and the Muslim community would continue unabated.

This he said, this kind gesture will go a long way to make this year’s Hajj a memorable one.

The Hajj Village was constructed to provide temporary accommodation to pilgrims going for the “Hajj” before they are airlifted to Saudi Arabia.
