MTN Ghana through the MTN foundation has spent about ten million Ghana Cedis on health, education and economic empowerment projects since 2007 to enrich the lives of Ghanaian communities.

In 2012 the foundation made significant investment in communities through the provision of school books, medical equipment, ICT centres in different regions, and has been able to employed over two hundred and sixty thousand people.

MTN is having about five hundred and? seventy three customer care agents with seventy seven branches serving customers nationwide ,which MTN contribute it quota in the development of the country, about one hundred and five million? have been invested in this year MTN action plans which includes, additional investment to increase manpower and implementation teams, increase BTS capacity and coverage, additional fiber ring and mitigate some of the challenges confronting them, MTN is giving back to communities by supporting festivals, invest about 1.6million Ghana cedis into projects in the eastern region on health, education and economic empowerment, organize their own MTN branded festivals in communties and among others.

Speaking during the Eastern Regional Editors forum organize by MTN foundation in Koforidua? in the region, the MTN Corporate Service Executive Mad Cynthia Lumor noted that the forum was to present MTN?S business activities in the region and gives journalists? strategic view of MTN?s initiative in Ghana.

She added that the company share its vision to lead the delivery of bold new digital world to customers as well as its new mission to make customers? lives a whole lot brighter.

She defined MTN strategic themes as pillars for achieving its new vision includin, creating and managing stakeholder value, creating a distinct customer experience, driving sustainable growth, transforming the operating model and innovation and best practice.

Mad Lumor indicated that the company is ensuring that MTN stays relevant and successful in a fast place environment, creating value for all stakeholders, both internal and external in a sustainable way and in accordance with the values and ethics of MTN.

?There is the need to seek opportunities for continued growth in existing and new products and services,? she emphasized.

According to her the company drives towards digitalization, community investment, new commercial activities and network expansion and improvement initiatives in the region and across the country, stressing that MTN continues to invest in the network, because the it is the core element through which we provide the services customers expect, which is the only way we will continue to maintain customer loyalty and remain a leader.

She elaborated that their way forward is to be in partnership with relevant stakeholders, improve customer experience, continued network investment, regional modernization project by listening to their customers.

She concluded by highlighting their challenges as network, microwave and power failures, permitting and fiber cuts which has been a major worry, investing in more before it can be stable.

She called on the authorities, stakeholders and all and sundry to collaborate with MTN to give back to the communities as it intend doing.

Taking his turn the MTN Technical Operator Mr Samuel Doku lay emphasized of people stealing their generator and AVR, diesel, battery which has been a major problem, pleading with those behind it to stop.
