Hearts of Oak have forgotten the disappointment of failing to win the premier league title as they gave their chances of FA Cup success a boost with a 4-1 thumping of Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday. The presence of PPP flag bearer Doctor Paa Kwasi Ndoum who is the Patron of Elmina Sharks could not inspire the lower division side as Mahatma Otoo and Uriah Asante improved their scoring form for Hearts.

Hearts after this victory will meet AshantiGold in all premier league encounter in the quarter-finals. First division side Amidaus FC produced the story of the weekend by beating Kotoko 2-0 in their round of 16 tie at the tema sports stadium on Saturday.

Kotoko have not won in two games since winning the league title three weeks ago and Amidaus FC ended the Porcupine Warriors hopes of a double this season. Amidaus will meet the winner of the May 23 clash between Kyenkyekye and Berekum Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Cup competition.

AshantiGold edged out All Stars 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday. Lower division side Danbort Fc became the first side to book in a place to the quarter-finals of the cup competition after beating Sporting Mirren 3-2 on Friday in Tema.

Danbort will now play New Edubiase which defeated Heart of Lions 2-0 at the Bekwai Park in the last eight of the competition.
