Mpraesomankuo donates Gh¢100.000.00 PPEs to communities

The Mpraesomankuo, a union of Mpraeso citizens at home and abroad have presented sanitary items to ten Kwahu Mpreaso communities situated in the Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern Region.

The donation formed part of the Association’s response of getting involved in the fight against the spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic in the Kwahu area.

The items donated included Veronica buckets, boxes of hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, ten pieces of infrared thermometers, paper towels, piles, bowls and disposable baskets.

The beneficiary communities are Oframoase, Mpraeso Amanfrom, Nkawanda No.1 and No.2, Kwahu Nsaba, Asuboni No.3, Abetensu, Jejeti Station, Asuosu and Kotoso.

At a short ceremony to present the items to the beneficiary communities, Mr Oppon Sasu, the Chairman of the Association, said it was time deprived communities were supported and enlightened on the coronavirus disease to enable them to stay safe.

He said the gesture was in response to a distress call from the community members for support.

The Association with the support of Nana Abrah Appiah, the Chairman of the Mpraeso Caucus and Krontihene of Mpraeso and other natives, they were able to mobilise some funds to support the communities.

He said the Association had the welfare of the people at heart and assured of their continuous support.

Mr Sasu said other items such as medication and food items would soon be provided to households in a way to help improve the living standard of the people.

He called on chiefs in the communities to ensure that the items were positioned at vantage points for the people to have access to them.

Mr Sasu entreated the people to appreciate the initiative that the government had proposed to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

Nana Afrifa Yamoah, the Odikro of Oframoase who received the items on behalf of the communities, applauded the Mpraesomankuo for the gesture and promised to ensure its maintenance by putting the items to good use.

Madam Celestina Asante, the Kwahu West Municipal Health Director, demonstrated handwashing to the people present to enable them to practice proper personal hygiene.
