Mr Abdul-Aziz Mohammed, Member of Parliament (MP) for Mion Constituency in the Northern Region has presented a new ambulance to the Sang Hospital to ensure timely and quality health care delivery to the constituents.

The ambulance, valued at GHC 600,000.00, is also to assist the hospital to effectively enhance quality health care delivery in the constituency by responding quickly to emergency cases to save lives.

The new ambulance is fitted with all the paramedic equipment that provides life support to patients when being transferred to a health facility to save lives especially in cases of fatal accidents.

Mr Abdul-Aziz, who handed over the ambulance to the health facility at Sang over the weekend, said the absence of an ambulance in the constituency had been a major setback to health care delivery hence his decision to equip the hospital with the ambulance to address the situation to put an end to the needless loss of lives.

Mr Abdul-Aziz, who has also begun work to upgrade some community roads in the constituency, said it was to facilitate the smooth transportation of patients to health care facilities on time, especially pregnant women and the aged.

He appealed to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to ensure that the MP’s Common Fund was released on time to fast-track the implementation of projects that would bring about development.

Alhaji Sumani Shaibu, Chairman of Mion District Health Committee, who received the keys to the ambulance, expressed gratitude to the MP for taking the initiative to assist the hospital with the ambulance saying the provision of the facility was a major relief to residents in the constituency.

Alhaji Shaibu said the services of the ambulance at the hospital would further improve health care delivery, while contributing to the development of the constituency.

Chief Musah Alhassan, Regent of Sang thanked the MP for taking bold steps to support the constituency with major development projects including; the ambulance to improve health care delivery.
