Mozambique Airlines (LAM) announced on Thursday that it cancelled some domestic flights due to cyclone Dineo.

Norberto Mucopa, spokesperson of LAM told media that the cancelled flights are from capital Maputo to Vilanculos and Inhambane, two cities in the southern Inhambane province.

These flights were estimated to depart on Wednesday. But due to the bad weather caused by cyclone Dineo, the meteorological authority suggested that LAM cancel these flights.

“The cancelled flights were scheduled to Thursday or Friday and are being reprogrammed,” Mucopa said.

A child was killed in Massinga district by a falling tree as cyclone Dineo made landfall on Wednesday in Inhambane province.

A number of houses were left without electric power in Inhambane province. Enditem
