A number of celebrities in Ghana have added their voices to the save energy campaign by the Ministry of Energy and petroleum calling on Ghanaians to switch off electrical gadgets when leaving the house.

The campaign dubbed: Save energy, save money, save the environment? is to instill the attitude of energy conservation in the Ghanaian populace.
The celebrities include, Kalibos, Samini, Christabel Ekeh, Madgid Michel, Sherifa, Jerremy, Funny face among others. According to them, what motivated their decision to be part of the campaign is the fearing statistics by the Ministry on the amount of Energy wasted to nothing in the country. According to the Ministry, 30 to 40 percent of energy consumption in the country goes waste.
They advised Ghanaians to use standard fridges which consume less energy as compared to used fridges imported into the country, not the look out for the yellow label when buying any electrical appliance.
The Minister for Energy and Petroleum, Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah believes with the celebrities on board, the project will go a long way to solve the energy crises faced by the country since the their funds will listen to their call for energy conservation.

The Minister disclosed that?in its quest to educate Ghanaians on the need for energy conservation launched the Campaign, in the last quarter of 2014 and?So far 20 celebrities from the creative and arts industry are on board to curb the menace of energy wastage in the country.
