THE Niger state Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said it has arrested one Mohammed Salihu, with 60 kilograms of substance suspected to be cannabis.

The 32-year old Suspect was said to have been arrested last Wednesday along Kainji-Wawa road, in Borgu Local government of the state. This was contained in a Press statement signed by the state Commander of the Anti-Drugs agency, Abdullahi Abdul, a copy of which was made available today Monday in Minna, adding that the suspect will soon be charged to court for prosecution.

Abdul however seized the opportunity to appeal to parents, religious leaders and all well meaning citizens residents in the state to assist the state Command of the NDLEA in the fight against illicit drugs abuse in the society.

According to him ?we are equally appealing to the state government to help NDLEA with logistics so that we can be able to function well in the state, as we have offices in six different locations in the state?.

The State Commander of the NDLEA however expressed gratitude to the state government and all sister Security Agencies in the state especially the Nigerian army formations and the state Command of the Nigeria Police for their supports to NDLEA in the state.
