Ghanaian duo Mohammed Rabiu and Jonathan Mensah missed out on winning the French Cup as Evian TG were beaten 3-2 in the final on Friday night.

Midfielder Rabiu played 82 minutes before being replaced by Ivorian Eric Tie Bi when the both sides were tied at 2-2.

But centre-back Mensah was not part of the team selected by coach Pascal Dupraz for the trip to  Stade de France.

Mali striker Cheick Diabate?s late strike saw Bordeaux win their first Coupe de France title in 26 years.

Diabate opened the scoring for Les Girondins in the 39th minute before he missed from the penalty spot early in the second half.

Yannick Sagbo then leveled for Evian three minutes later but Bordeaux edged ahead in a thrilling final through Henri Saivet?s close-range volley.

Brice Dja Djedje again equalized for Evian and the game looked to be heading towards extra time until Diabate popped up with an 89th-minute winner to claim the trophy for Bordeaux for the first time since 1987.
