The Islamic State-affiliated militant group on Saturday claimed responsibility for a deadly bomb attack that left 34 people dead in eastern Afghanistan earlier on the day, local media reported.

The militants of the Khorasan Caliphate, a branch of IS- affiliated group, has claimed the responsibility for Saturday morning’s bomb attack at a local bank in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of eastern Nangarhar province, Tolo News aired in its news bulletin.
Earlier this year, the IS jihadist group, mostly active in Iraq and Syria, announced that it has established a province in Khorasan, a historic name for a region that covers Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of other countries in the region.
The suicide bomber detonated his explosive jacket at the middle of a crowd who lined up to get access to New Kabul Bank, killing 34 people and injuring more than 120 others, according to the report. Enditem
