Miller and George (M&G) Diagnostic Centre have equipped the Mamprobi Polyclinic with some medically disposable items which were been considered as some of the daily needs mostly required by every medical officer when attending to patients in hospitals or clinics.

The non-recyclable items includes 4500 pairs of examination gloves, 90pieces of 500 gram cotton wool, and 9000pieces of strings and needles worth GH3,200.

The Executive Director, George K. Odame said the gesture is part of the collaborative effort between other medical service delivery institutions to give medical care and comfort to the sick in the society.

Mr. Odame added that his outfit have sanctioned several of such gestures to other needy institutions offshore however, this donation marks the official beginning of its cooperate social responsibility in this calendar year.

The Diagnostic Centre which stands adjacent the Polyclinic, according to the Executive Director, is constantly at the heart of the company to give back to the society in good measure.

In an interview with THE PUNCH, he recalled on the bureaucracy one has go through over a long period? of time especially within government institutions before their challenges and basic needs are addressed.

According to him, initially they had wanted to donate LCD television sets to the Polyclinic but after some checks and to their outmost surprised saw the major needs of the Polyclinic which brings to fore the relevant of donating these disposable medical items.

He noted that the Centre will constantly seek the needs of the Polyclinic and other institution in the communities order to provide the support and needs that will affect society in the positive way.

Matilda Allotey-Annan, Principal Nursing Officer, General, Mamprobi Polyclinic expressed her profound gratitude towards the management of M&G Diagnostic Centre for the kind and timely gesture.

She said the donation is a step in the right direction because on daily basis these medical items which are often used faster normally ran?s out of stock at a very short period of time.

?With the quantity of the gloves that they?ve presented at least one month we wouldn?t be in handicapped, it could help us far. With help of the cottons too taking our treatments in the dressing room we normally need them, so it could also help us 3-4months,? the Principal Nursing Officer told THE PUNCH.

She therefore appealed to other philanthropists to join the same course to help the Polyclinic deliver quality medical services to the sick, pregnant mothers and other medical cases in the clinic.
