PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan — Six people, all civilians sustained injuries as three short-range BM-1 type rockets slammed into Pul-e-Khumri city, the capital of northern Baghlan province on Tuesday, a police officer, Abdul Rashid Bashir,said.

VIENTIANE — Ten elementary school children are missing and feared drowned in Laos after the boat they were traveling in capsized in a major Mekong tributary Tuesday morning local time, according to local police.
It is believed the eight girls and two boys were among 35 fifth- grade students, four teachers and a single crew member on board when their ferry capsized while attempting to cross the Nam Ngum River in Pak-Ngum District some 60 kilometers from the center of the country’s capital Vientiane. ISLAMABAD — At least 20 people were injured when a bomb hit a passenger train in Pakistan’s east Rajanpur district on Tuesday afternoon, local media reported.

NEW DELHI — The heat wave sweeping through many parts of India killed 90 more people on Monday, taking the toll in the heat wave to near 800, said officials on Tuesday.
All the people died of sunstroke and heat-related incidents. Most of the deaths were from the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where 551 and 215 had died, respectively, till Monday. (India-Heat Wave) Enditem
