UNITED NATIONS — UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday announced the appointment of Lieutenant General Johnson Mogoa Kimani Ondieki of Kenya as the Force Commander of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS).

OTTAWA — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday announced that he will pay a working visit to Japan on May 23-25 and participate in the G7 Leaders’ Summit on May 26 and 27 in the country.
During his visit in Japan, Trudeau will have an audience with the Emperor and Empress of Japan, and will meet with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. HELSINKI — The Central Finland District Court has sentenced a man to three and a half years in prison for throwing petrol bombs at a refugee reception center, reported Finnish national broadcaster Yle on Friday.
