Ghana Assistant Unaware Of Essien, Kevin Boateng & Ayews Return

Ghana assistant Maxwell Konadu has ruled out the return of Kevin Prince Boateng and Michael Essien for next month?s 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho.

The former Black Stars striker is also unaware if Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew will return to the Ghana fold for the two crucial matches.

Rumours in the local claimed that Essien and Boateng were on the verge of a return after opting out of the national team on their own accord.

The Ayew brothers prematurely retired from the national team saying they want to concentrate on their club careers.

The France-based duo said they will announce their return to the Black Stars in future after the Ghana FA pleaded with them to make a u-turn.

With rumours flying around that the quartet are set for a return to the national team, Ghana assistant coach says he is not sure if the quartet will make a return soon.

?As of now I don?t know if Kevin Prince Boateng is coming back to the Black Stars or not,? Konadu told the local media.

?I have not heard anything and even head coach Kwesi Appiah does not know, so for now we have no idea if he and Essien and even Andre Ayew will be back soon.?

Essien will be organising a charity match a day after Ghana face Sudan on 7 June which makes it impossible to play in the game in Khartoum.

Boateng will also be playing in a charity for Podolski in Gemrany around that dates which makes it impossible to play in the match in Sudan.

Ghana are expected to resume camping later this month for June?s matches against Sudan and Lesotho.

The presence of the quartet could have boost the squad for the two matches but their absent have not negatively affected the team as the Black Stars have excelled without them.
