Maxwell Konadu: Black Stars is ready for any team

Coach Maxwell Konadu

Coach Maxwell Konadu says the Black Stars will not be looking to avoid any team ahead of tonight?s draw for the qualifiers for the 2013 Afcon finals.

The West African giants will know their opponent after today?s draw which takes place in Johannesburg.

Ghana are among the top seeded countries following the side?s impressive record in the past three African Cup of Nations tournaments.

However there are few tough customers in Pot B which the Black Stars should be wary off with the likes of DR Congo, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Central African Republic and Niger all expected to know their opponents.

But the Black Stars assistant coach says the team will be ready for any challenge.

?At the level of where football has gone to, there is no way you should have preference for one team,? Konadu told Kumasi-based Fox FM

?Every country has pump money into the game and that brought a lot of improvement.

?Before you can become champion, you need to play with these top guys and after passing through unscathed, and then you would have known you have done your best.

?All said and done, it?s up to us to strategize so we can win those games.

?Anything at all can happen when it comes to draws, and so any team that comes our way, we?ll take and go ahead to play.?

Thirty countries divided into Pot A and Pot B will go into the draw that will determine the final qualification route for next year?s continental showpiece to be staged in the country from January 19-February 10.

The 30 countries that go into the draw will produce 15 winners that will join host nation South Africa early next year.

A two legged system of home and away final round of qualifiers will be played on September 7-9 and October 12-14 will determine who goes into the 16 teams finals draw on October 26.
