Heracles Almelo Hand Lifeline To Ghana Striker Matthew Amoah With A One-year-contract

Dutch Eredivisie side Heracles Almelo have rescued Matthew Amoah?s career after signing him on a one-year-contract, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The 32-year-old, a free agent, agreed personal terms with the club, passed medicals on Friday and signed the deal which will keep him at the club for the entire 2013/14 season and has been handed the number 9 jersey.

He joins Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Quansah who is the deputy captain of the club.

Amoah was the most impressive striker in Holland during the pre-season with NAC Breda where he scored an abundant number of goals (18 in 6 games).

But Breda were unprepared to offer a deal to mark his return to the Rat Verlegh Stadion where he scored over 45 goals in 103 games or so for the club.

Heracles  scouts watched the experienced goal poacher and recommended manager Jan de Jonge hand him a deal at the club.

He is set to play his first game for the club on Sunday when they open their season with a visit to Vitesse Arnhem.
