Armed robbers have attacked close to twenty vehicles on the Mampong-Ejura road making away with belongings of passengers.

According to one of the victims who pleaded anonymity, she counted about 16 vehicles which were lined-up by the robbers who robbed the passengers of the monies, cell phones, laptops and any other valuable.

She alleges that no one was hurt in the mass highway robbery since no passenger offered any resistance in the incident that took place at Bosofor, a town near Mampong in the Ashanti region.

According to the victim of the robbery, the robbers numbering about 21 were of Fulani descent and were armed with AK47s and other locally manufactured guns.

Police in Mampong confirmed the incident was reported to them but stated that the armed robbers took off before a patrol team arrived at the scene.

District Police Commander, DSP Abdulai Nuhu told?Joynews?they are handicapped in their patrol operations in the area because of inadequate logistics.

DSP Abdulai Nuhu will however not confirm if the suspects were of Fulani descent explaining that investigations into a similar incident revealed the perpetrators were young men in the community.
