Mr Marcus Bruister, the new General Manager of Goldfields Ghana Limited, Damang Mine,  has pledged to work assiduously with the chiefs and elders of  the Huni/Valley Bosomtwi divisional areas, to improve the present state of the mine.

Mr. Bruister who is a geologist by profession, is taking over from the former General Manager; Mr. Cristo Fileon, to help stabilize operations at the Damang Mine.

The new General Manager said this when he was officially introduced to the chief and elders at the Bosomtwi palace in the Prestea Huni/Valley Constituency.

He said even though the mine is encountering major problems in its production, it is prepared to do all it can to ensure that the company is  developed for the benefit of all its operational communities.

Mr. Bruister emphasized that with unity and hard work the goals of the Mine would be achieved.

In a welcome address, Nana Kobina Amponsah the Fourth,  paramount chief of the Bosomtwi Traditional Area,  said there have been many indications that Goldfields Damang is not accruing what it used to produce, hence sparkling panics among the workforce.

Nana Amponsah was optimistic that with the new board and the expertise of Mr. Bruister, Damang Mine will improve upon its performance.

He pledged the support of the traditional council towards  the progress and development of the company.
