5th All Ethiopia Games

— Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister Tedros Adhanom on Sunday left for an official visit to Dakar, Senegal. During his stay in Senegal, Tedros will meet various officials including his Senegalese counterpart Mankeur Ndiaye.

— The 5th All Ethiopia Games came to a conclusion on Sunday in a colorful closing ceremony held in Hawassa, capital of Southern region of Ethiopia, in the presence of senior government officials.

Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome attributed the success to coordinated efforts of both the organizers and participants whom he took the the opportunity to congratulate.

The games are not only producing young sportsmen and women who will represent the nation in the international arena, but also helping boost the nation’s sports infrastructure, said Mulatu. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/FBC)

— The Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council has said efforts are underway for the inclusion of the historic Shrine of Dirre Sheik Hussein on UNESCO list of World Heritages.

President of the Council, Sheik Mohammed-Amin Jemal, said in addition to efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Council is working in partnership with universities and other stakeholders to ensure its registration on UNESCO’s list. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC) Enditem
