Ghanaian international defender Marcel Appiah has secured promotion to Dutch Eredivisie with NEC Nijmegen?after winning on Friday evening.

NEC qualify for the Dutch top-flight league next season after beating Sparta Rotterdam on Friday at the?Goffertstadion.

?It is a great feeling we won this game and qualified for the Eredivisie next season. We have done a great work all season and everybody is happy. There?s a big party going down,? he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The?Eerste Divisie has just seven games to round up but NEC have opened a 21-point lead and a win over no club will be able to overtake them assuming they loose all their remaining games of the season.

NEC qualified with a narrow 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Friday night, a game Appiah warmed their bench.

They have won all their last 12 games and are poisoned for victory when they take on Oss who have Dutch-Ghanaian forward Johnathan Opoku in sparkling form.

Appiah joined NEC on a season?s contract after leaving German side Arminia Bielefeld.
