Osewere tried to stab his father and brother with a pair of scissors

An Apapa Chief Magistrate Court, on Friday in Lagos, charged Evans Osewere, 28, for attempting to stab his father, Kayode Osewere, with a pair of scissors.

Evans, who is said to be living in Kayode Estate, Marine Beach, Apapa, Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of assault.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.

The prosecutor, Insp. Clara Olagbayi, told the court that Evans threatened his father and brother, Lucky, with a pair of scissors, following a disagreement.

She said that the offence was committed on August 28 at about 7 p.m. at the family?s residence in Apapa, Lagos.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 21 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State 2011.

The Magistrate, Oluyemisi Adelaja, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

She also ruled that the surety must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government, and adjourned further hearing till September 19.
