According to the police chief, Obed Nana Nketiah agreed to sell the car to Nelson Kofi Poku Tetteh at the price of GH?40,000 after negotiation.

He narrated that the complainant, who dealt with Tetteh in the past, willingly gave out the car and its documents to him without receiving any money in return after he promised to pay in a week?s time.

Nelson Tetteh went into hiding after taking delivery of the car.

DSP Otuo-Acheampong said the suspect sent the car to Obuasi and sold it to one Kenneth Coffie for GH?23,000 four months later.

The Crime Officer disclosed that the buyer became suspicious after receiving the car?s documents and reported the matter to police.

While investigating the case, the police boss said officers received information from the Berekum Police that Obed Nana Nketiah had lodged a complaint against the suspect.

Nelson Kofi Poku Tetteh, who was subsequently arrested, admitted to the offence during interrogation.
