Mrs. Winifred Seibu Arthur, Headmistress of Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School, has rallied support for Ghana’s Black Queens ahead of their crucial semi-final match against Morocco in the 2024 African Women’s Football Championship.

The educationist drew parallels between her students’ recent sporting achievements in Kimberley and the national team’s potential for victory.

“Just as our girls conquered in Kimberley and brought home medals, the Queens too shall triumph,” Mrs. Seibu declared. She urged the team to maintain focus on the ultimate prize while assuring them of nationwide support from both female and male supporters. The sixth-ranked Ghanaian squad faces tournament hosts Morocco in what promises to be a fiercely contested match that could elevate Ghana’s continental standing.

Additional encouragement came from Emmanuel Olla Williams, CEO of Dreamland Sports Plus and president of Ghana’s Tug of War Association, who joined the chorus of well-wishers. “Score to make the nation proud,” Williams urged the team, reflecting the growing anticipation surrounding the match. The semi-final encounter marks a pivotal moment for women’s football in Ghana as the Black Queens seek to advance to the championship final.
