Politicians in the country have been called upon to use the political platforms to make peace and unity a habit in order to maintain the peaceful atmosphere the country enjoys in enhancing the rapid socio-economic development of the nation.

The call was made by Nana Mensah the NPP chairman of Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region of Ghana. He observed that peace is a vital component that leads any country to grow and therefore charged politicians as the main opinion leaders in the country to put politics behind and first think about the welfare of the nation by preaching peace when they mount political platforms to speak to people.

Nana Mensah averred that Ghanaians should be self discipline and stressed that people had to sacrifice their precious lives through discipline, hardworking, effectiveness, character building and honesty before they reached their destinations.

In his opinion, people who live disciplined lives are always the one who live to the realization of their dreams. He added that “self discipline is the price that a leader must pay in order to bring to pass his dream.”

Nana Mensah went on to entreat party members especially the top hierarchy to display a high sense to political maturity to maintain peace and unity to ensure good yield of results in the coming 2012 general elections.

He urged his colleague NPP grass root members and the top hierarchy to come to the realization that now is the right times for NPP die hard supporters to preach peace and win more souls into the vine yard of NPP party.

Nana Mensah made a courtesy call to NDC and NPP party members in the Municipality as they are the icon of the town to ensure peace.

He said this during a peace council meeting at the municipal assembly. Nana Mensah who is the mouth piece of the opposition party prayed for the good will of the people of Dunkwa as calling on them to promote a successful and peaceful electioneering campaign.
