In its quest to improve health care delivery at the Children block of the Korle Bu Teaching hospital, a Non Governmental Organization MA Love foundation has launched an appeal aimed at raising funds to acquire a mobile X ray and a Blood Chemistry Analyzer for the hospital.

Launching the appeal at Press Conference in Accra, the Founder of MA Love Foundation Reverend Mike Nii Abossey called on corporate institutions and organizations as well as individuals to contribute their widows might to the foundation to enable her realize her dream of securing a mobile X ray and a blood chemistry analyzer for the Children block of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

?The children?s ward does not have a blood chemistry analyzer for small blood volumes and currently children?s samples are sent to the central laboratory and they are not able to be attended to on time because of the number of cases at the central laboratory, and most of the time the technicians complain that the samples are too small for any meaningful analysis to be made. It will be extremely helpful if we have the analyzer that can be used in the Children Block specifically for the children and different from the general one at the central Lab?- he said

? One other pressing need is a Mobile X ray machine for the Children wards because there are instances when? the babies are in very critical conditions , making it difficult to transport them to the main X-ray department for such services when the need arose. In the process, some are lost,? he further? told the press.

Reverend Mike Nii Abossey also used the opportunity to appeal to benevolent Ghanaians and organizations to donate any amount from 1 Ghana cedi to the foundation through MTN MOBILE MONEY number 0548750033. He assured the general public that no amount will be deducted and also called on those using other networks to walk into any mobile money centre to donate to the foundation through the MTN mobile money.

The news conference coincided with the organizations launch exactly a year ago in Accra.

The Finance Manager of Webb Fontaine Ghana Mrs. Stella Kumah who also addressed the press used the opportunity to announce a five thousand dollar ($5,000) donation on behalf of her company and called on other corporate institutions and organization to contribute towards a worthy cause.

?You don?t know when your child will be in a critical condition and will need any of the facilities badly in order for that child to survive, that is the reason why we all have to contribute to this worthy cause,? she said.

The Founder of MA Love foundation accompanied by The Finance Manager of Webb Fontaine Ghana, Stella Kumah,? A board member of the Foundation, Mrs Judith Theresa Buckle? in the company of some clergy men and officers of the foundation toured the Children Block of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to assess the condition of? three incubators it donated to the Children?s ward of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital a year ago.

The foundation? in partnership with Joy Fm , Webb Fontaine Ghana, Mac Dan Shipping , Baj Freight Ghana, and other benevolent Ghanaians raised funds to purchase five incubators out of which three was donated to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,? and the two went to Upper West Regional Hospital, Wa and Upper East Regional Hospital, Bolgatanga .
