The mobility of the 254 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) is expected to improve with the delivery of a duty truck to each of them.

The trucks procured through automobile companies including Auto Parts, dealers of Nissan vehicles in Ghana were delivered to the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Alima Mahama in Accra on Thursday.

The minister described the delivery of the Nissan NP300 Hardbody pickups as timely as the ministry was serious about ensuring quality work delivery by the assemblies..

She said the vehicles would enhance the work of the MMDAs especially those that demanded movement of officials.

Haji Mahama urged Ghanaians to support the assemblies by paying their property rates in order to enhance revenue mobilization for development.

The minister disclosed that there were additional 254 Nissan Patrols duty trucks being procured for the Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), while other departments under the MMDAs will also be equipped with their duty vehicles in the coming months.
